View Full Version : object rotation from pixel color value

I'd like to use an image sequence to rotate objects. I tried the to use texture channel, but that didn't do what I was looking for.

I'd like to do in LW what Daniel Rozin did with his mechanical wooden mirror. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1i2di0N508

I'm thinking this would be done with expressions or lscript or something that I'm not incredibly well versed in.

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

You could make one of those things, then make a morph target of it up, then use nodal to drive the morph with the image brightness.
Here's an example scene.

If you're using 8, you do the same using the Normal Displacement plugin (in the Add displacement area) , choose Displacement Direction>MorphMap and select the morph you created in the MorphMap field. Then add your image in the Texture section.
