Is there a way to set the max opengl lights to more than 8? I tried doing it through the cfg, but the changes didn't want to keep. Am I missing something somewhere?

To the best of my knowledge the max open GL lights of 8 is what it is, the max.

Darn. Guess I'll keep alternating through the lights as I need to edit them then. Thanks.

no 8 is not max,

in fact the wildcat vpus from now defunct 3dlabs could accomodate 32 openGL lights

OpenGL supports a minimum of 8 lights. The actual number of lights supported above the minimum requirements is up to the graphics card manufacturer.

Yes, but how do you change that in Lightwave so that you can see more lights in the display.

LightWave or another program would have to ask the graphics card using an OpenGL command, if the card can support more than 8 lights. If the answer is yes then LightWave would have to provide the necessary controls.

I have never set up lighting in LightWave and thus do not know if more than 8 lights can be used.
