View Full Version : Is it possible to animate UVs ?

Well, is it possible to animate UV's in Lightwave other then cycle UV option ? Important thing is that the animation should be visible in viewport. Basicly I have an object which is a continuous line representing some shape. Object is UV mapped and I want to gradually display the object as if someone was writing this shape down on paper. Shape is complex so UV mapping is needed. The method with spraying particles for alpha is out because there are manyintersections. Does anyone have any idea to do that ?

Assign a weightmap to the object and use fertilizer (find it on flay.com) on it. fertilizer is used to "grow" objects along their edges.

You can animate UVs two ways:
Animate UVs in the standard Texture Layers editor or using Nodal.
I have a new video that out that shows how to use APS and also covers
some things in nodal including UV animation. Heres an example.
This is a single object. The lava has a higher subpatch level and is an animated procedural along UVs.
