I recently purchased my first mac & I'm really enjoying it. I need advice on which software to purchase to output my frames. Is Final Cut Express a good choice? It looks like it can do alot for the money, or is Imovie good enough to get started with? Thanks or the help, this mac newbie appreciates it!

I'd try using iMovie. It's pretty good.

Or just export your animation as a Quicktime .mov. I know pro's argue against it in case of a render failure or power outage, but if you're only doing hobbyist stuff, it's fine.

Because I'm lazy I use it all the time and it's never once failed me - even after days of processing. And, give LW its due, once it's rendering it's a pretty stable animal, most of the time...

Or just render as frames and use Quicktime to import 'm and export as a quicktime movie (it will cost you 30 dollars in order to do this as only Quicktime Pro allows exporting, but it's worth the money)
