View Full Version : Problem with textures with intersecting polygons

Anyone else have any problems with textures being screwed up when polygons intersect?? Here are two examples:

Notice the sub_bad pic has a water plane passing through it and the textures on the sub become rather blocky and full of noise. It's even worse below the surface. Remove the water plane and everything is great!

What type of lights/shadows are you using? Is the water surface a single poly or a grid? Does it have subpatches on or off?

It's subpatched, single poly. There is a spot, and a distant light. The funny thing is is that this is an old scene. Nothing has changed, in fact here is the original rendering which came out perfect.

I would try subdividing it, changing camera types etc if youre in LW9
