View Full Version : FX Groups and Clones - LW9 Bug?

I may have just run into a bug - maybe already reported, but couldn't find it with a search. Of course, it could just be me, and that's why I'm posting here instead of the bug reports. Maybe someone can tell me where I'm going wrong.

I cloned an HV Emitter of which the original belonged to a group that contained a wind effector. The clone did not respond to the wind, even though it showed up as being in the correct group.

I ended up making another emitter from scratch and this worked - I manually copied all the settings.

I also made 2 more from scratch, and did the copy/paste thing from within the effects panels. Again, even though these items showed up in the correct group, they were not effected by the wind... that is, until I changed the group to default, and then changed it back. After that it seemed to work.

Anyone else run into this and can tell me if I'm doing something wrong in the first place? Otherwise, maybe this should be reported as a bug? Or I'm just an idiot - or both?

That does sound like a bug, something is missed when copying plugin instances.

Maybe try LW9.2beta which is supposed to have an updated objectID system?
