NewTek is pleased to announce that the LightWave v9.2 Open Beta program is now available for the 32-bit PC, 32-bit Mac (PowerPC) and 64-bit PC platform.

The LightWave v9.2 Open Beta program is open to all registered owners of LightWave v9.0 educational or commercial licenses. All qualified applicants need to log-in to their NewTek product registration account at http://register.newtek.com. If you are qualified, you will see a LightWave v9.2 Open Beta banner at the top of the page. Click this banner to read and agree to the NDA and provide your NewTek Discussion Forums log-in ID. Once you have done this, please download the software appropriate for your platform from your My Downloads page. If you are not able to download the software immediately, please be patient. We have implemented new systems for this to provide as much bandwidth as possible, but demand is expected to be high.

If you have not already signed up for a NewTek Discussion Forums account (http://www.newtek.com/forums) log-in ID (forums name/alias), please register for one (http://www.newtek.com/forums/register.php) before applying for the LightWave v9.2 Open Beta program. You will need this in order to access the private LightWave Open Beta Forums, which is the only place you may discuss the Open Beta program software until the end of the LightWave v9.2 Open Beta cycle. Access to the private Open Beta forums may take up to two business days after you agree to the NDA and provide your log-in ID.

Everyone interested in participating in the LightWave v9.2 open beta program will need to complete the process outlined above, including those that participated in the LightWave v9(.0) Open Beta program.

If you do not currently qualify for the Open Beta program, but would like to participate, you may still do so by purchasing a full version of LightWave v9 or upgrading an existing license of LightWave 3D to LightWave v9. You can purchase LightWave directly from NewTek online at http://shop.newtek.com or by phone at 1-800-368-5441. You may also purchase from your local authorized NewTek reseller. To find the Authorized Reseller near you, in North America visit http://www.newtek.com/dealers/us.php or outside North America visit http://www.newtek.com/dealers/international.php.

No. If you want to protect existing configs, use the " -c" process to redirect your shortcuts and configs to another folder.

Hmm for me the Open Beta part of the Forum is gone.

I downloaded/registered fine, but the Open Beta Bug department is not visible in the Newtek Forums no more.

Anyone else have this??

Once you have access to the LightWave Open Beta forums, you will be able to access that there. http://www.newtek.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=185.

Just bear in mind that it may take a while for everyone to get access to these forums.

Other than the SIG press release and last week's newsletter, no. All documentation will be available via the Open Beta Forums.
