Hi,

If you're at a University, does your university supply publicly accessible Macs? And if so, does your home folder reside on a network volume?

Yes we do.


And if so, does your home folder reside on a network volume?


Nope. We do have network volumes we can mount via SMB though to save our files, but the home folder is created locally for our accounts at login and then destroyed at logout. Authentication is via Active Directory/Kerberos.

We also have the network license version of Lightwave on a few of these cluster Macs. Not entirely sure if they function the same as the above situation in regards to user accounts, as I don't support those. They probably do though.
