Here is a render that I did last night of a TV Room, I wanted to know what you people think. Any crits welcome, and if someone can give me some advice of how to improve it would be nice. I'm trying to get it as real as I can. Hope you people like it. :D

THe light from the window is not realistic for a start. It's look like you have a heavy falloff on the light and it's burning out the wood texture. The way I do than overexposed pure white look is to either set the BG colour to white or just a square with it luminosity set to white, then place an area light the size of a window just inside the window. Another light outside the window, casting a window shaped light and shadow on the ground is optional.

this is an image that I used as reference for the scene. I tried to recreate this, but I'll try your setup on my next render. :D

I don't think it's wise to recreate quite that level of over-exposure

The window is much better now, and the carpet is great also, the only problem now is the big wooden cabinet. It doens't look part of the scene, it looks like its been pasted in as a collage. THe reason is that's it's far too saturated. This can be easily fixed in photoshop.
