View Full Version : Clearing all weight maps?

Howdy:

I've got your basic human character with 32 skelegons. I run the bone weights tool to create weight maps for each skelegon. Then I decide that I don't want any of those weight maps after all. Is there any way to delete all of those maps at once? It looks like I have to select each weight map individually and go to Edit Maps>Delete Vertex Map. This seems rather inefficient. The manual doesn't indicate a speedy workaround.

My other alternative is to select each bone, one at a time, in Layout and set the Bone Weight Map to "None". This doesn't seem very efficient either.

Any suggestions?

Hit F8 in Modeler to bring up the Vertex Maps window...

you can always use this free plugin from dstorm...
it deletes all maps at once

Just hitting the underscore key ("_" - default Clear Maps shortcut) with nothing selected should take care of it.

Thanks for the replies.

BeeVee: Once I bring up the Vertex Maps panel is there any way to shift select all of the maps and delete them all at once?

Maxx: Hitting the underscore will delete the data in the vertex map, but it looks like I have to go to each map, one at a time, and delete the map.

As I said in my initial post, that doesn't seem very efficient.
