View Full Version : Introduction: Sunrise Production

Hi all
I am a new user. I am working with a Production House in South Africa called Sunrise Productions.
We are planning a full length CGI animated feature film, commencing production June next year. I am doing the R&D on hardware and software platforms and setting up the production pipeline.
We will have a 100 seat studio - and I am planning about 100 box render farm as well with about 40 TB of storage.
We are researching Maya, XSI and Lightwave as the main production software - but are concerned that LW will not cope with the demands of a feature film. (By the way this should be the first CGI animation feature produced in SA)
In particular I am concerned about LW for rendering - although it would be wonderful if we could use it instead of Renderman - which will break my budget.
I would love feedback from anyone with experience or thoughts on this.
If you wish to contact me privately, wmy email is [email protected]
Thanks and regards

One of the things Lightwave is not criticsed for is it's rendering, which is generaly considered to be very good-maybe not as fast as some, but the free render nodes balances this out I guess for a large production.
