Hi all!

Saw in the other thread a few folder icon suggestions so I thought I'd share a preview of an upcoming icon-bundle which I call "Creative Black". (What do YOU do when you wait for the renders to complete?) ;)

This is just the LightWave folders, 47 of them.

Use them as you wish, don't sell them though :)

The icons are here: http://www.noll1.se/files/lwicons.zip

Thanx! And you're welcome.

In a few weeks, if time permits, I'll have the whole set out. It'll be around 200 icons in the whole pack, I'm at to 95 at the moment.

Thomas, you're just totally mad

Have you done any Hard Drive icons yet?

ps....Those are Lw7 & Lw8 icons, any plans to change them to v9 icons before you finish the set?

:D

Just to show you what I mean have a look at the blue areas for clues :D

Lw7/8 icon on the left and the Lw9 icon on the right.

I think the bottom tail bit has changed too and maybe even some of those triangles.

I for one would sure love the full blown LW9 version to play with...Newtek :D

Hope that helps,

Kuzey

Thanks! :)

Thank you very much. The idea/look isn't completely mine though. Saw a set called "Application Folders" a while back but it wasn't quite what I was after. So I thought I'd just make my own.

As for dock icons, well I could but I have the dock hidden all of the time so I'm in no need of them ;)

Ooops! Wasn't even aware of that. Thanks for pointing it out. Just took a check in the LW9 Content folder and I couldn't see an updated model. Anyone know if it exists? (The white "old" logo is a render from the LWO-logo that came with lw a few years ago.)

Well, since you liked the first bunch, here comes another set for Lightwave, not as many, merely 18.

Grab them here: http://www.noll1.se/files/lwicons2.zip

What software do you need to do this? Any special process you have to do in the system? Used to be a copy-paste in the info window, that don't work no more...

Strange, downloaded the archive at home now and it's working as it should, with as you say, copy-paste in the info window.

Hhmm, anyone else having problems?

Not having Lw 9 but wouldn't there be a big juicy version in the LW about box??

Anyway, this thing is harder to find than a needle in a haystack :)

I guess it's just the application icon that won't change. Files and folders work fine

Ok, I'll check into it tomorrow. BTW, why a folder icon on the application? Ah well, guess I'll have to fix a few black & white application icons as well... :)

No, no! I wanted to replace the [9] application icon, because it's so big and flat, with the icon from [7.5], it's more attractive and matches everything else in the dock. But I guess there's no way to change that. :grumpy:

The Newtek icons look fantastic!

Ahhhh! Now I'm with you! (I'm so stupid!) :foreheads

Tried to paste a new icon into the lightwave app and it worked! BUT there is no way I could delete the pasted icon. :(

Oh well, a few dock icons for those whom have lost their app-icons ;)

Get the dock icons here: http://www.noll1.se/files/lwdockicons.zip

Wonderful!!

Thomas, did you design the folders yourself aswell ?

I think I might be more stupid because I just this the same thing without reading the entire thread first :newhere:

You could use "Iconographer" to do that, but work on a copy and it also gives you access to the file icons and what not.

But that should be easier with the UB version when the app becomes a bundle.

Just for clarification since so many people are having difficulty lets make sure we're all applying icons correctly:
Open the Inspector by pressing Apple + Opt +i
Select the New icon you want.
In the inspector you will see the small icon in the upper-left corner. Click it and a blue glow will appear around it.
Press Apple + C to copy it.

Go select the Lightwave Application.
In the inspector window click the old icon so it glows and then press Apple + V to paste the new icon over it.

You can delete custom icons by selecting them in the Inspector and pressing Apple + X to discard the custom icon and revert to the default.

I hope that helps. You could also use the Get Info dialog box, but the Inspector follows you so you don't need a lot of get Info windows all over your screen.

If you still can't apply an icon, or can't remove it, use Disk Utility to repair your permissions. You should have access to change any of those icons.

Thanks!

Hehe, rendering images or video is the perfect time for some icon-fiddling. :)

Unless there is something else to do...
