Botcon is a huge Transformers convention, held every year in the US. Every year they have an art contest, and this year I decided to enter, with a picture of Optimus Prime:

And I won!

I just wanted to share this with you guys; I'm really proud of winning this. I've picked up so many hints and tips over the years from these forums that I doubt I could have made the image if I'd never come here :)

Congratulations!

One question though, why's it say "2D" computer generated art? Isn't it "3D" from LightWave?

Awesome job and congrats! Great presentation. I modeled a Megatron I made a couple years ago myself. Check it out if you're interested...

That's cool you included the Matrix of Leadership. Looks like he actually transforms too!

Thanks guys :)
CMT: that's awesome. I think I remember seeing that. And yes, the model is fully transformable. It's based on one of the toys (the "Masterpiece" Prime figure).

One question though, why's it say "2D" computer generated art? Isn't it "3D" from LightWave?
Because their categories are SEVERELY screwed up. My piece was in with basically anything done with the aid of a computer; scanned art coloured in Photoshop, photomanips, all things like that. They defined "3D" as kitbashes and dioramas. I'm trying to get them to change the categories for next year; my guess would be that this way they don't have to give out as much prize money ;)
