Concept:
Well, the complete story is that it is for a girl that I like.
She just quit with her boyfriend, and well, I have always liked her.
I was at messenger, and she told me she felt sad, etc.
So I came up with this idea.

I asked her first what was her favorite color.
I knew from before that she liked everything related to the sky.
So well, I picture her as a ballon with a patch.
To represent the problems around her, I put the dark clouds.
I positioned the stars, since I remembered from long ago she liked a poem about stars.
I wasn't able to remember that poem, so I came up with the idea of making my own.
I then sent her the link of the finished pic.

She loved the image, and I'll go out with her the next week.
I guess it worked better than I expected.

Technical:
Stars, brightness/contrast tweaked in Photoshop.
Rendered in Lightwave 3D 8.5
2 lights used using FPrime with some bounces.
About 5 hours of work

That's so sweet. :) Nice image, too. I've always been a big fan of your lighting.

Hehe. Girls love that ****! I was sappy enough 12 years ago to write a poem to my girl. Ended up marrying her!

Seriously, nice and simple image with a powerful meaning. Really like it!

Ha, nice! I've actually been considering doing a similar thing.....now I have solid proof of effectiveness. Thanks! :p :D

Anyway, the image, and the poem even, are brilliant. I'm really liking the use of DOF. I think that it is often over-used by many people who think it'll make thier render look more real when it just makes it look more small... but I think you've made pretty good use of it. The color choice is also very effective.

Great job (as usual) and good luck!

neverko: Thanks! Hey, you got a pretty cool avatar!

Captain Obvious: Hey, thanks for the comment! This time the lighting was super simple, just to lights from the right. FPrime did the rest of the work by pumping up the bounces to 6. Mayorly it is texturing work, to make everything look that soft.

CMT: WOW, now, that is mayor scoring! Well, I hope to get a nice dinner with her, thats all what I ask for now.

loki74: Taking pictures with an old cam really helps to know when to use DOF in renders. This time it was mainly to separate the clouds and give a stronger sense of depth. I''m glad you liked it!

Kuzey: Thanks man!

 I think you nailed this one down flat.

The word poignant probably best describes this both now, and when you look at it sometime from now.

Goodluck and great image creation as usual:)

Skinner3d:

Thank you for your comment. I'm a very emotional person, but I normally don't express them in my renders. I think I should try to do more pieces that could touch people. Thank you!!
