My son brought his 3D glasses and Data Gloves over to show me some very kewl stuff. We tried them with Lightwave with mixed results but it got me thinking, when will we be able to dawn 3D glass and data gloves and start modeling and painting inside a virtual world?

Hi,

I've been looking into this as well. More on that later. ;-)

Mac OS X would benefit from some real time extensions on this one.

Ever since I tried playing Super Mario Bros with the Powerglove, I've been a bit skeptical of the non-traditional inputs. Granted, all of it started as non-traditional at some point, but I'll wait until things get fleshed out a bit and adopted widely before jumping on any such bandwagon (or asking LW to do the same).

*"Yeah, well, uh, just keep your Power Gloves off her, pal, huh? "*

I'll be happy with just a UB version of LW9. The question was thrown out there as a look 50 years into the future kind of thing, maybe LW version 30 or something. I don't even know my way around Lightwave enough yet to know what kind of plugin I want to write, although I've been kicking around my own version of FPrime and Hair.

Was kind of nice to have a really big screen to play with in the 3D goggles though.
