howdy,

can't find specific data anywhere on eyeonline website.

1. is it 2d tracking ala aura 2 or 3d tracking ala matchmover/boujou/icarus?

2. what is the 3d paint thingy do EXACTLY? can i paint on a mesh ala deep paint 3d? and how good is the painting without the paint module?

thanx

It's 2D tracking only, I believe, but much more sophisticated than Aura's.

As for 3D, it looks like you can do all kinds of shading and texturing or texture replacement using UVs, normals, object IDs, Z depth, material IDs and more. Certainly using everything LW can export with the RLA or RPF image filters.

So basically anything you can paint on a texture you can use in 3D. From what I've seen so far on the texture system and shader module in the DF demo, it looks pretty sophisticated.

Does the DFX+ package ship in a box w/ printed manuals / cd's etc? or is that another download item.

I know pdf's are convenient but frankly I spend too much time in front of a computer, and do enjoy reading a printed manual. :)

good pdf's, helps systems and html docs are essential in this day and age.

but only as SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL, not as substitutes.

i agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment.

i can't tell you how many skills i've learned flat on my back with with the covers pulled up to my chin.
