Hi Proton.

I was checking out your eye video using nodes. I am considering using this but I need to be able to control eye movement externally using a node.

Do you know of a way to do this?

Thank you very much,

Animotion :)

that set up is base don incedent angle so with that setup I dontthink so.

You could always use a texture and use a target null.

Hi Proton, that is what I did. maybe this will be implemented later.

Thank you very much

You can do it with a gradient, just don't use incidence angle as the input parameter.

create a null, put it infront of the eye, target the eye to the null. Then in the node editor change the gradient to Z Coordinate as the input parameter (Assuming the eye was made down the Z axis). move the null and make renders to test since VIPER doesn't like to render this for some reason.

This is actually a quick tutorial in the LW9 Texturing book ;)

hey... copy a light and uncheck "affect diffuse/specular"...name it something like target or so...use a color layer instead of the gradient...place a gradient in there and choose "light incidence" as input...then choose your "target" light...voila!...you can now use the "targetlight" as interest for your eyes...
