FLASHBACK: HILLARY CLINTON TO CNN KING: 'I CAN'T IMAGINE RUNNING FOR OFFICE'
Tue Jun 10 2003 10:20:27 ET

Senator Hillary Clinton is planning to take to the nation's satellite dishes and cable boxes again this evening to further discuss her book LIVING HISTORY.

Clinton will sit with CNN's LARRY KING to explore her life and loves -- including serving the people of New York in Congress.

But host King dare not play clips from his previous outing with Clinton. On April 29, 1997, Clinton appeared for the-full-hour while she was still first lady:

CALLER: Are you considering running for office in the future?

CLINTON: No, no.

KING: At all?

CLINTON: No.

KING: No circumstance under which you would?

CLINTON: Not that I can imagine. That is not anything I have ever thought of for myself...

**

Two years later, Hillary Clinton would announce a run for elected office.

I am no fan of Senator Clinton, however, I don't blame her for running for office even though two years before she said she wasnt considering it. Two years is a long time, and perhaps she wasnt considering it then or changed her mind.

harhar, not all politicians are liars

Not to mention that she claims that she didnt know about Bill and Monica until much later then 2 Clinton former advisers said she knew. The bunch is a pack of liars and it would be nice if they just went away.
What I cant figure out is how she goes to New York to just use them to be able to run for senate. She could care less about them but they still elected her anyways...go figure..

Speaking in absurd absolutes about large groups of people is idiotic.

Larry, what I love is that in her book she talks about how much of a saver packrat she is. She wraps up candy bars she doesn't finish, etc etc.. I wonder if that is her excuse for stealing furniture out of the white house :D

we are talking about politicans, the very word indicates liar. It's like saying all liars are liars. If all liars are not all liars, then they are not lias to begin with.

How in the f do you compare this to lying?
Not saying she hasnt or have lied before but how can you say a change of mind constitutes lying?

Things and situations change.
You might of said in your life"I hate broccoli and I'm never going to eat it again" and then you like broccoli and start eating it.
Does that make a liar?
If it does I think we all are in big trouble.

Are the extreme rightwingers getting so paranoid about a liberal woman that they are already gunning for her before and or if she does run for the president.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing about the word 'politics' or 'politician' implies lying. We all engage in politics. The politics of friendships, the politics of the work place, politics of family life, etc.

In U.S. government there happens to be many truthful, honerable, and even handed politicians on both sides of the partisan isle. In as much as "all politicians are liars"is an empirical statement, not some a priori truth as you put it, you must have met and known them all well enough to know that each of them are liars. Unless you intend to back up the claim that you know that 'all politicians are liars' with the same certitude that you know 2+2=4.

Obviously you have no concept of what a neocon is. You've heard the term used and don't even know what it means.

Out of all the lies coming from politicians mouths lately, Hillary running or not is the big issue? Holy lack of perspective Batman! :)

As for all politicians being liars, I don't know if I'd go THAT far, but I would definitely say that the level of lying is related to the level of power they achieve. And that applies to "both sides" :)

I'd agree with wgreenlee1 that neocons DO love to pick on Hillary, because they can find a hook to get back to their favourite topic, Clinton bashing :)

No sir it's not just about Clinton bashing. They made Democrats look bad for their own glory.

Actually conservatives aren't paranoid or afraid of a liberal woman running for president. They are more concerned that the liberal voters are stupid enough to vote for a liar like the Hildabeast. You think Bubbah was for big government - just remember who was writing the policy behind the scenes.

Has anyone gotten sick by the 5 minute Democrat commercial with Hillary and Katie on the Today show the last couple mornings?

Katie serves up a "hard question" then lets Hillary explain the Democrats stand or bash the Republicans until she's done. Then Katie serves another for Hillary to knock out of the ballpark.

Some of the statements by Hillary had enough holes to drive a truck through, but I never heard Katie even make an attempt to.
Ya gotta love the crap the Media claims is news.

I certainly hope NBC gives equal time.
Except, as history will repeat, Katie WILL challenge every statement made when it's a Republican.

a quote from the late Douglas Adams... (might be slightly mis-quoted as it's from memory)

"Anyone who wants to be a politician should never be allowed to be one"

Oh I know - This kind of lap-licking interview style was very popular during bubbahs term. Katie is one of those useful idiot of the 'unbiased journalism' class. Did anyone notice if she was wearing her clinton knee pads or were they the standard liberal ones.

In a lot of ways that is true. GWB is more like WJC than RR in that he has big socialist ideas for America and his wife thinks that rights and freedom come from the government. Example W's new education package. The libers hate it because it extends to every school instead of keeping the money to just socialist public schools, but it's still big nanny government. Of course it would be nice if 'johny' could read when he gets his diploma, but wouldn't 'he' feel better about himself if he did it on his own and not by some federal mandate?

First of all I wouldn't put much faith in the NYT after what we've found out about them.

The term neocons was started by leftists to be a type of pejorative against Jewish Conservatives.

You have to read the context of where the term originated.
