View Full Version : Trouble with a clip map

I'm working on an animation that requires me to to a cutaway of a solid object. I've done these before without any troublem, but this time I'm working in 9. I have two objects (basically the same model, only their normals face in opposite directions). Both are bieng clipped with the same map, but I have the matte object flag turned on for the inner one. The only problem is that the clipped object isn't capping. Am I overlooking something? sheeesh.

Just wondering if you managed to find a solution to this. I find myself in the same situation as yourself and I'm tearing my hair out trying to get it to work.

As a matter of fact, I did. I found a plugin called Shift_Boolean Texture under discussion at SpinQuad. It worked extraordinarily well. The download is at http://dodgy.ghostoutpost.com/Lscripts.html#Boolean%20texture. It's at the bottom of the page. There's a pretty good explanation of its operation at the SpinQuad forum thread - http://www.spinquad.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13563

Just downloaded it and it works perfectly, exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks again,
