View Full Version : Field rendering

I'm little bit confused about the Field rendering in Lightwave. There is either "odd first" od "even first" to choose while in other applications (Premiere) there is "lower first" or "upper first". Which is which, and how does it look like in NTSC and PAL TV standards?

Well, since you come from Poland I assume you want to render PAL. In LW you would have to chose "even" first which would then translate into "upper" in Premiere. For NTSC it's the other way around. However, you never know unless you try. Carefully check your project settings in Premiere or whatever other editing tool you use and do a test. As weird as this may sound, sometimes the oddest combinations work 'cos different types of hardware will handle fields in different ways. I suggest doing a tes - create a simple but fast moving animation (Do not use Motion blur for this test!)and import it into Premiere. If edges look jaggy (sawtooth) you did something wrong and have to change the settings.
