i am still have some trouble with the unrapper i cant get a the uv map right i keep haveing polys overlap and strech

Question: is it a polygonal map from a subd object?

Then change it to subd and they shouldn't be crossing.
Just go into the 'make uv' dialogue and make sure that the subd interpolation is selected; everything else doesn't matter.
After pressing ok and the panel goes away undo it.
Your uv should now follow the subd interpolation you selected.

UV interpolation is also settable in Windows > Vertex Map Panel window at any time.
