I'm fairly new to 3D, been spending most of my time modeling. Now that I have a few things to texture I've been having a hard time understanding all the different texturing terms, like... "What exactly is a normal map?" and "What's the difference between a normal map and a bump map?"

I seem to be finding a lot of answers to my questions on Wikipedia like this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_mapping

Was wondering if people here have been contributing to Wikipedia at all? Or is anyone actually contributing to the LW Wiki, because there doesn't seem to be much info there?

Not as extensive as Wikipedia, but it might still be nice to have bookmarked.

bookmarked!

Thanks Captain

I find it easier to do things if I actually understand whats going on. Not there yet but this is helping.

I've made several contributions to the wikipedia, actually I was one of the first to write something about LW, at that time it was a lonely topic. I don't contribute to wikipedia anymore, the articles change fast and your work is lost.

The best thing I've found on Wikipedia is this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Cannon

This is my great-great Grandmother's brother, my great-great Uncle.

He said of Theodore Roosevelt; "He (Roosevelt) has no more use for the Constitution than a tomcat has for a marriage license". ...Now there's a serious conservative!!!...

I just discovered Wikipedia a few months ago and I love it.

I started updating the LightWave entry last week. I'd like to get the article pretty large, but I need help. If you have anything you want to add to the article, please do it!
