I don't seem to be able to sharpen subpatched models in Catmull-Clark mode using weight values on points. Is this a limitation?

Weights work fine in normal Subpatch mode. Can anyone offer enlightenment or a solution? Apologies if I've missed out on something here, but I did a Forum search. :D

cc subpatch only supports edge weighting, no point weights in cc subpatches

You don't use the traditional point weights on CC's( i.e.setValue). You use Edge sharpness.

BTW, you can adjust Edge Weighting by our free interactive plug-in AdjustSharpness available to download from http://www.trueart.eu

I would also be sure to set your edge weights as an absolutely last step. In my experience just about anything will break the CCs, knifing, extruding, mirroring, even copying and pasting sometimes.
