Hello -

Been looking for some help on this.. does anyone know or have any ideas how to accomplish this? basically growing branches, that in turn branch out more?

I found some good references, but nothing close to what I need, any ideas?

You can do it with Hypervoxels. I have a vines growing tutorial on the LW8.5 3rd party CD and on Kurvs site. You can also use a free plugin called fertilizer. :)

The trick with Fertilizer is that you have to set your weight map to 100% on everything except your starting poly. Set that to 0%. (I think you can call the weight map anything, I usually use the map name, "Grow").

Also, depending on your scene, you may need to make more than one poly have a 0%.

Neverko, watch Larry's tutorial. It is a great one. Basically, if I remember correctly, he uses splines to model the tree/vine.

It was over at Kurv Studios awhile back. Also on the content Cds.

Sorry for going off-topic, but I just had to express my jubilation that there's now a Mac version of Fertilizer. :D For quite some time there wasn't.

From what I know about it, it sounds like the tool of choice for this task.

I love it. Here's a link to a WIP of a quick animation I did where the floorplan grows up into a 3d model. I built the model and then added Fertilizer.

You'll have fun playing with it.
