This is probably a stupid question but I had a thought last night, if you create something with lightwave and animate it, is it possible to turn the animation into some sort of screen saver???:screwy:

There are packages that import avi files and output screensaver files- I've made screensavers that way. Obviosly the playback depends on the machine its running on.

Microsoft had a powertoy that did this. I had it play the openings of my favorite shows when it did. I think this is it (it's been al least a year since I used it)

The power toy only works with version 9 of windows media player. With version 10 you get an error message asking if you want to download ver 9.
I have not heard anything yet if they plan to update the powertoy.

Here's one app for showing avi's and more as a screensaver and seems to be free. http://www.freewareweb.com/cgi-bin/deskdb.cgi?ID=331
I found this in 30 sec from doing a google search with avi+screensaver.

It's been a while but I think the software was called Screentime- something like that.

I have a collection of such software at home. I am at work right now, but will get back on which of them are worthwhile:)

I always wanted a saver that would just gently tumble a 3d object from LW on the screen...

You know...I'm working on something similar but it doesn't use the lw's 3d objects, just a QTVR object movie of the object...but they would look a like except for the QTVR resolution when you zoom in and out :beta:

Anway, the idea is a very cool one!!
