In LW 8 I'm animating a mermaid that deforms
in a path by using the technique of morphing the
mermaid and allowing a path of bones deform
it.

My question is this:
Is it possible to animate the mermaid's arms as well?
Currently, she swims in a path but I'm guessing I have to
bake the animation and re-bind......Any ideas LW gurus?

Thx for your help

mmm... I'm having this same problem but I want to have it the other way round... as in animate the character using bones and then deform it along a path. Maybe your method could do this?

First, animate your mermaid with a skeleton (for the arms animation), having her swim in a simple way without path deformation. Use MDscan to bake the motion into a series of morphs, then use MDplug on the mermaid without the bones. Then use your path of bones.

That said, I don't know what you mean by that last bit. Could you explain?

Thanks, Jasper
