Hello All, and Newtek;
Was the Version 9 Phyical CD shipped out yet ?

I received two copies at work (Ordered from Safe Harbor)

but DID NOT receive my copy of LW9 at home (Ordered directly from Newtek) and am still waiting for it. I did, however receive a physical copy of Vue 5 about 4 or 5 months ago.

I got my physical CDs on Saturday, Aug 19. This is just an FYI, YMMV.

Apparently they were at the local depot this morning and were going to couriered today at work but they didn't arrive. I looked at the door every time I heard a car door :(

Got my CD + DVD today. Was hoping for a little more "meat" on the DVD that I hadn't seen before though!

there are some who got a confirmation and tracking number that it was shipped? Did those who received their's get a confirmation? I have not received mine either.

I ordered it from Safe Harbor and got it from them last week. Today I got one from NewTek. I only placed one order...:confused:

Bought mine through Newtek and while I'm waiting for my home copy, I've gotten 2 work copies. One with a wrong serial number and one with no serial number.

I've got two seats waiting for their CDs...both direct from Newtek...
no email notification, no package, no nada.

Patience is usually key at these times.
And it's easy to have, since we've already downloaded 9 and are running it on both systems.

Funny thing though...my 9-5 job has a single seat, bought from Safe Harbor, and the CD's are sitting right here. LOL.

Probably because it has to go through DVC ltd in the UK before being sent here :(

Anyways, I am hoping TO GOD they are sending me a copy that is going to accept my current dongle or at least have sent a new dongle (seperate from the main program of course), because I've not been able to use the last 4 beta/RC versions and the downloaded one wouldn't accept the dongle neither.

Where on earth was this packaged? The box was in pristine condition and neatly plastic wrapped, the manuals were fine as well. The CD's however were covered in a mess of brown/black particles and frankly looked like sh*t.
After wiping them once before putting them in my DVD drive, the CD wouldn't copy out all the material on it. There were read errors... grrrrr. The DVD was fine after the initial cleaning. I took a cloth for wiping optical equipment and went to work on the CD (which had tiny scratches in it's surface) and polished it hard for a bit. Then it worked. Kick the CD/DVD packagers in the nuts please, they deserve to be sore for a few weeks.

I had a similar problem.
NT Europe got my Convenience upgrade to me within a week, so no complaints there :thumbsup: Like yours, all the exterior packaging was intact, the CD and DVD were good too, unfortunately the same could not be said for one of the manuals which looked like it had been used as a football :thumbsdow

I got mine through Kurv Studios, and the discs arrived yesterday, but not the manuals (I had ordered the 9 upgrade with manuals, not the convenience pack.)

I had to call and ask about the manuals. Turns out they just shipped the disks separately because they didn't know when the manuals were going to be available.

So if you didn't get your manuals from Kurv, they should be coming soon. :) Just a heads up.

Get straight onto tech support, you should be up and running now, they won't send you out another dongle unless it's damaged. When your disks come I doubt there'll be another serial on the packaging (unless the seats brand new or the serials identical to the one you already have).

Yes, I think the software is completely independant of serial numbers, the numbers relate to your dongle, not the LW exe's.
Also, It would be a nightmare for Newtek to be printing off specialist serial codes for each box to then try and match each serial with each address. It can be done but has to be a packaging nightmare. (But I'm only guessing)

Hmm, I wound up with two copies. I ordered and received the one with the manuals. A few days ago I received a package with just the CD/DVD.

Dang! I ordered my last December!! I called NewTek the first week of August, and the guy said, "Two weeks." Now I'm thinking this is a Money Pit situation. If they don't really know, just say "two weeks!!"

Did any of you have success calling them? I will try again, but I'm not confident. I am jonesing for it now because I can't use my computer at home (packed up for massive remodel... the Money Pit again!), and I have been too busy at work for messing around with it. So I'm hoping for manuals to read on the bus...

Yeah, I ordered last summer......up until a month or so ago they told me I am only entitled to the DL version........THEN BeeVee tells me (to my BIIIG relief. Thanks Ben :) ) that since I ordered before New Years '05 I am entitled to the disc version upon request. Yeepee :D

So now I've been waiting for NT Europe to get the discs so they can send them to me.

As the original poster of this thread, I'll let you all know that I finally received my software though it was sent to my work rather than home. Looks like I need to call Newtek (Again) to get the address changed.

Got Mine yesterday in my P.O. Box when I checked my mail, bills, bills, then the Pink card with Package to big for the mailbox, hmmmm, ok, went to mail clerk, and gave the Bright pink card to the clerk, she came back with the big package, cool, went to car, opened it, cool the LW 9 CD's..........

My company ordered ours last year (October, I think) and I just got the CD/DVD ~ about 30 minutes after I finished downloading the electronic version!!

I am still waiting.. quite frankly I am getting Pi**ed off about it. I ordered the product in March, I paid for the printed manuals. and after all theese months no letter, no e-mail nothing... after I complained via E-mail I got a standard form letter saying that they are working on catching up.. what the H*ll ever happend to first come first serve? what ever happend to the days when pre-order ment that you were bumped ahead in line? What is going on NT? I love your product, but the lack of professionalism in this launch has really got my dander up! please please please please send your pre-orders first from now on!

I ordered mine on the 11th of this month

On the 16th I got shipping confirmation and tracking number.

On the 21st I received the box with CD/DVD and manuals.

Well, I don't know if it will make you feel any better mjcrawford, but I ordered mine at the end of January and it just came last Saturday...so it should be real soon. :thumbsup: I also just got the Pyrotechnics tut's from AsileFX today and am set for this weekend...:D :)

Well, I ordered mine back in December, and it came either today or yesterday, to the wrong address... But I got it finally. I even checked in via phone at the beginning of August. It does seem odd that the pre-order people are getting copies later than new-orders. But the manuals are snappy! I like the graphic design of the package much better than 8.

Funny, mine was sent to home (where I've been exiled from due to a remodel!) instead of work (where my last two or three newtek orders have gone) despite calling and confirming that they were to be sent to work!

this is encouriging... if newtek sent it to one of my former resedences I am screwed.. or they need to send a copy to my currant address! this is just so frustrating... I know that NT is not a megga large corpration, but they really need to get some good operations management going on! seriouslly.. this is just wrong!

You need to make sure you address is correct in your registration account. A dongle upgrade can be purchased by calling 800-862-7837 Monday - Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm CST if you are in the US if you are in europe please contact NewTek Europe.

What about them E-mailing or something? I hve sent a second complaint in and this time they did not reply at all! I am beginning to think that maybe I sould begin to look elseware for 3d software... I am still new enough that I will not loose too much by swtiching now... I really like Lightwave, but if the company is unwilling to even contact a customer that is upset... well I am just tired of being ignored..

just to be safe, I checked my address on the NT regrestration page, it is correct. but I still have recieved no word from NT as to the status of my order.... if anyone from NT reads this.. understand that on other threds people are trying to come up with ways to increase their customer base.. ignoring pre-orders is NOT an effective marketing stratigy. Sure my company only has one licence right now, but we could grow, and others may ask use for pipeline solution advice... get the idea? when you take a dump on the little guy, in the long run it will come back...

I pre-ordered mine when 9 was first announced, maybe a year or more ago. They did try to deliver today, but I missed the driver cos I was in the carsie - typical!

got my CD's yesterday! I was impressed from the get go with the new registration utility which was long overdo in my opinion and everything just got better from there. I am completly overcome by the new node system, I don't even know where to begin it looks so powerful, like there is nothing you can't do now. Unfortunately I have no idea how to use them yet!
