One Denis Pontier (http://newtek.com/forums/member.php?u=68107) has been writing killer LW plugins and nodes for a while now - all PC only. He's expressed interest in having Mac versions made, but has been apparently having some trouble making that happen. Chilton, you've said you will help people port plugins to Mac - any chance you could work with this master pluginier?

Lack of Mac versions of his plugins are making me very sad.

I'd have already jumped at the chance to help him myself if only I knew how to code anything more advanced than an LScript. Once the UB version of LW comes out, I'll seriously want to look into how to program, using Xcode.

wow, this sounds very promising, even not knowing about the content of this message :)

denis' shaders and plugins are among the most useful stuff around, that's why a mac port would be awesome!

Infortunatly, Richard says on his page, he doesn't offer anymore to
compile for Mac.

I'll help as soon as UB Lightwave comes out and I can use Xcode. I didn't get CW in time and MPW is terrible.

In the meantime Denis, you might hit Lightwolf up for help?

Update: He's mailed me the sources and I've compiled the nodes now as an initial test. They haven't really been tested yet (except for: start LW, add plugin, add node to surface, render, quit).

I'll work on the shaders tomorrow. Heck, nothing like a bit of relaxing fun on the week end, ey? ;)

Cheers,
Mike
