View Full Version : Mysterious disappearing face

Hi all, I have set myself the task of learning lightwave :newhere: , and coming from other 3d software, it is a bit different at times.

I have the following problem. When the angle of the crest of the temple nears tangency, faces disappear. It is not just a problem with the viewport, the renderer also ignores the face! :thumbsdow

Truly weird. Is this avoidable? I need a very acute angle shot, so I "need" that face! :cry:

First image, shows how it looks ok from a normal angle
Second image, face disappears in the camera view
Third image, the offending part as seen after rendering (and brightening it an awful lot in hdrshop to highlight the problem...

Non planar polygons might be the problem?

Try 'Triple' to convert the disappearing polygon into two triangles and see if this helps.

All the normals are pointing outwards, btw...
