Here's another reproducable (predictable?) problem I've been having and hope that someone here can shed some light on what may be going on. Any time I do a preview in Layout, the preview plays fine. But when I close the preview, LW crashes. I have gotten to the point where I know LW is going to crash if I preview so I save everything and then run the preview. Anyone else ever have this issue?

BTW, LW 8.5, running Tiger 10.4.7

I think this was fixed in 8.5.1. You might try the update and see if that fixes the problem.

Hi Jon,

I think the old 8.5 workaround was to set your end frame longer than you needed, then stop the preview before it finishes. Then copy the /Applications/LightWave/Programs/Current Preview.mov file to another location and open it in QuickTime...

It was a pain, but it worked... :goodluck:

Wonderful, it's good to know it's not my system. Was that something that Tiger broke? That seems to be when I remember having the problems start.

Now... where in the world is the download area? I thought there was a link from the newtek home page but can't find it anywhere.

Ok, I found the downloads (it was in the register section... go figure) but it looks like 8.5.0 is the highest version there...?

Right. I had to live with that workaround until I got LW 9.0...

same here. 9 was my solution. 8.5 still has it and i use the aforementioned workaround when not in 9.

I can't find the 8.5.1 update either. Maybe it was just a typo. :(
