Hello everybody,

and thanks to all this genius Lightwave gurus, who have always good ideas for solving problems. I hope I can also help in future anybody.
Well, how is the best way to copy the weight Maps from one polygon character, to the sameone that is polygon reduced? My problem is, when I have finished with weight mapping and reduce the polygons, I loose the weight maps on the reduced character.

By the way, I heared, that you can use UVmaps for weight mapping. How do you do that?

I'm not a genius Lightwave guru, but I've have tackled with similar issues before. :)
If you have used some polygon reduction plugin, they usually have options to preserve weightmaps, although the mesh usually needs some manual tweaking afterwards. If you already have a skelegon or bonesetup, you can calculate weightmaps in Vertex Paint and then manually tweak if you have to.

You can also try this plug-in (http://flay.com/GetDetail.cfm?ID=1173) which I guess can be used to copy weights between meshes. I haven't tried that myself, so if it works, let me know... :)
