I just purchased TMPGEnc. However instead of outputting a .mpg file it outputs a [m2v+wav] file. What's up with this. I purchased TMPGEnc after using a trial version without any problems (output .mpg)
What am I missing here...all I want is a simple MPEGII file.
Any thoughts?

While I've used TMPGEnc I'm not completely familiar with the newest retail version.
Look for a "multiplex" setting, or something of that nature. Multiplexing combines the audio and video into one stream.
BTW, MPEG-2 videos may or may not end with an .M2P extension.
