View Full Version : LW9 Motion Designer issue.

Anyone noticed any funky behaviour with Motion Designer in LW9?

I've loaded a scene from 8.5 to 9.0, The scene consists of just a flag, and flagpole in 1 object, 2 layers. Clicking start in 8.5 calculates as expected
and the flag deforms perfectly in OGL. Same scene in LW9, and the flag leaves the flagpole and flies away, and doesn't resemble 8.x in anyway.

The settings are identicle in both panels in both versions.
I can save a .mdd out of 8.5 and load it into 9.x and the deformations are okay. But i'm wondering why the calculations are all screwey?

Anyone else noticed anything funny?

Yes it's been mentioned multiple times, from myself and in the Beta forums,
so i hope it's fixed for LW9.x

Motion Designer is a legacy plugin, meaning it will never be updated or have new features added, but i would like to see it working with LW9.

It's obvious when trying to do anything with it, that it's not workable in LW9.
I've noticed you can do it in LW8.5 and save a .mdd that will work with LW9.
While ClothFX is okay, i personally like MotionDesigner better.
