View Full Version : Time Node?

Is there a time node for shading particles by age? Can't find it. Just doing Partigons, not HyperVoxels.

When editing a node, you should see an "E" which gives access to change that property over the timeline. You can make layer transitions, color changes material densities, etc... all change over time.

I am looking more for changing the color of individual particles by age, which I think is different.

avkills, you are right.
Partigons use the Surface Editor and a Gradient Layer for that doesn't have an Input parameter for Age.
I can't find one in the Node Editor either.

But there must be a way....

some kind fellow did code a time-node.
go to the beta forum

The time-node only tells you the time (as in frame).
The age of the particles is what avkills says he needs.

Still not sure this is possible.

We need a particle properties node then by the sounds of it.

Node-based particles would make me giddy (in a good way). Particle Flow anyone?

I think we need an age node in general. It would be absolutely perfect for making any kind of tracks in the ground, using the age node + the object orientation to turn the tracks etc.

Yes we do, I guess I can put this in the feature request forum. Thanks for looking guys, I thought I was going mad. ;)
