A bit of an announcement for people going to SIGGRAPH's guerilla studio: :D

Siggraph 2006 Live Performance Event Uses Lightwave Animation http://www.siggraph.org/s2006/main.php?f=conference&p=studio&s=opening

The Iterated 69 Sessions, a body-driven, live, interactive performance scheduled for the opening of the Siggraph 2006 Guerilla Studio, makes use of Lightwave generated 3d animations. The jam uses proprietary crowd detection technology to input audience behavior as animation controls alongside 2 live electric guitar players.

The Lightwave animations were created by animator, Marjan Moghaddam (www.marjan.com), and the crowd detection technology was created by Flavia Sparacino (www.sensingplaces.com).
3 performances are scheduled for Siggraph at the Guerilla Studio:
Sunday, July 30th 4.30-5pm,
Monday, July 31st 5.30-6pm
Tuesday, August 1st 5.30-6pm
Additionally, daily demos will be held at the Siggraph Guerilla Studio.

Crowd detection? is that like a crowd simulation in a way? cause we could use that in Lightwave...especially after scrapping a project because of heavy crowd use. :)

As in walking under water spigots and not getting wet. Or so I'm told.

I'll be sure to be along to that, then. Gotta show the flag.

We don't get anywhere near enough limelight for the cool stuff that we wreak.

Just as a random note to Newtek:
