Hi friends.
I just would like to know one thing before considering the upgrade.

Is there more control over jointcompensation in 9? Or some other new smartskinning function that allows for precise bonedeformation control?

Just out of curiosity, well, sort of. Actually all important questions for CA.

1. Has Jointmorph (the closest we have to smartskin) been updated to work well with subdivision order...like Pavel olas Smartmorph?

2. Does "Match Goal Orientation" transmit rotational values, now? For Jointcompensation and expressions to work with it?

3. Anything new regarding IK/FK switching in the native bonesystem? (yep, Mr Schultz, i know about IKbooster,letīs not get into that:)

4. Any sign of easy musclebones?

As of LW9.0, work has not yet been done on the C.A. side of things.
However, Jay Roth has stated that it is the intention to work on the cahracter animation aspects of LW within the LW9.X cycle.

Jay Roth has promised us improvements to the character animation system and underscored it with the fact that we shuoldn't have to wait too long to see them. That indicates to me that we'll see them during the 9.x cycle.
I'm really hoping for some real joint/skinning tools to be among them.
