View Full Version : FBI is hunting me...

I wonder if anyone of you guys got this message in your mail:

"Dear Sir/Madam,

We have logged your IP-address on more than 30 illegal Websites.

Please answer our questions!
The list of questions are attached.

Yours faithfully,
Steven Allison"

And there is a zip-file bundled with the mail. I suspect some kind of virus or something, so I have ingnored it.

The websites I visit are: Hotmail, Flay, CGTalk, NewTek, NewTek forums, SpinQuad, Simply LightWave, Meshuggah Forum, SOFE-forum and Luxology.

I seldom travel outside these pages, apart from some Swedish newspapers/television sites...

Anyone got any ideas?

This is a virus/trojan I would delete the email, then run an antivirus scan. If you don't already have software installed you can scan and clean your computer for free by visiting http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Haha.. well, I was pretty sure this was a virus-thing, so I never downloaded the attachement (using Hotmail here)... But thanks for the warnings! :)

Being in Sweden, you have nothing to worry about.
unless they are ABBA fans, and then they would come there just for the chance to meet one of them.....oh and get you too while they are there :D

lol, I got that same exact email last night. Did a quick google search for "fake fbi email" and found that exact message. Also, if you look at the return address, and the address to whom they sent the email, it should be a dead giveaway. :)

So clearly fake, wouldn't give it a second thought if it turned up in my inbox!

The FBI has an email address they ask that such things be forwarded to. I forget, but its something like [email protected] or something similar.
