View Full Version : Max number of objects in a scene?

Ok, maybe I am an idiot, but this seams a little odd to me…

I was working on a scene in which a swarm of flying bug-like creatures flies around on a path, then into the camera.. I used the new wind handles and a partagon emitter and it worked great! J But when I loaded FX linker to convert the partagons to objects (the bugs) LW said that the maximum number of objects had been reached and closed the operation. :cursin: What is the maximum number of objects? Is it based on poly count or number of items in a scene?

It's in your LW8.FCG or LW9.CFG file, mj. NotePad is your friend.

Thanks Bog! :bowdown: it sure sucks being a newbie somtimes!

So we can adjust how many objects we have in a scene? interesting, but I do not see the point. Is there a danger to setting the number too high? I have a fairly powerful system, (2 duel core Optrons/ 4GB RAM / 2 Quadro Graphics cards) but I would not want to try somthing that will just cause issues.

In the standard prefs in LW 9 you can change the max objects, lights, etc. without having to edit the .cfg file. It's in the PATHS section of the prefs.

Yeah LW9 made the option available without Notepad:..
It's in display preferences under defaults...
