Trying to apply an earth texture over a sphere but can't get rid of the seam.
Anyone know what I might be doing wrong ?

Is the seam in the render or in the OpenGL.

If it is just open GL, that is a byproduct of the UV space used to map your image onto the sphere: The left and right hand sides of the image can't share the same vertices, so what happens is LW has to try and get the sides to marry, in the only way it knows how. It just reverse the image again so you get an ultra compressed version making an ugly seam. On render it doesn't appear.

If it is also in the render, you have to think "is the image tilable/". by that I mean if you lay 2 copies of your image side by side can you see a seam? If so then you will need to do work in Photoshop/Paintshop pro/ Image editor of your choice to get the two edges to marry.
In Photoshop this is done with the offset tool (Filters -> Other -> Offset), which lets you wrap the image vertically and horizontially, then use the clone tool to get rid of the obvious seams.

I hope that was what you were asking. If not, maybe you can explain your problem further.

HI DogBoy,

You nailed it . . it's just there in the preiview not the render.
