Hi,

When running LW on a G5 Dual 2.7 ghz with 1.5 gig of RAM and around 40 gig of hard disk space I sometime have my veiwports turn to a solid colour and LW slows quite a bit.

This seems to happen when I am adding an item, a light seems to do it, not sure if this is a memory thing or not?

Hi GRC,

This sounds like a graphics card issue, but it could be something else. The important specs in this case are:
1) Version of the MacOS
B) Version of LightWave

Thank you,

The version of OSX is 10.4.6 and it's LW 8.5

This problem has only just started, especially when I am zooming into a viewport.

Can you post a screenshot? (command+shift+3)

Thanks,

Does the scene render properly?

Sorry it's taken a while to get back.

Yes the scene does render properly, it does seem related to items that I put into the scene, when I add an item then the effect usually starts, that's why I intially thought it may be a memory issue.
