I'm recreating a drive-in movie theater complete with neon lit entrance Marque. I can create the glass for the neon tubing and even make it look it look as if it's glowing . . . but there is no light eminating from it. I've been trying to use Luxigons to make the neon tubing self illuminating. I'm not having any luck so far. In Modeler I select the ploygons and assign them as Luxigons. Then I take them into Lightwave and assign them as Luxigon lights. I'm using raytracing to render but I get no lighting.

Any suggestions or alternate ways to create the self-illuminating neon tubes - ( Or suggestions as to why I'm striking out with Luxigons.) - would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
BJ

Generally Luxigon lights will be blocked by the polygon that they're created on, if they cast shadows. Try turning off cast shadow for the neon object, or exclude it from all the lights.

Have you tried putting the luminosity way up and then rendering with radiosity turned on. This will take some time to render though.

I just turn up luminosity and add glow. Seems to do the job for me.
