Norton is not free, but is pretty good. Here's something that I bet you didn't know and that I didn't know until I accidentally found out about it - you know that 1 year subscription thing for Norton updates? Well, it seems that the counter for it is kept on the client, not the server, so if you reinstall the os, the counter starts over... funny what you learn when you create a dual boot computer.

Try google:
http://www.google.com/search?source...e+virus+scanner

AVG is free, and pretty good from what I hear.

Any reason why this wasn't posted on the Windows thread? Viruses are a Windows issue.

AVG AntiVirus is an excellent free Virus Checker - I highly recommend it - you can download it from here (http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm?session=fbc365a18c879625dbb49eef52366 188) - you can even download regular virus updates.

...FROM ME...

Hmmm! viruses are a computer issue...are mac's not computers then?....if mac's don't have viruese why do software manufacturers make antivirus software for mac's then?

as to why i posted here...it's a off topic/community area where people can get a wide range of opinions on things that are not just about lightwave.

cheers

Try AntiVir, it's a lot less intrusive than AVG.

hi
i've also been pointed to http://www.free-av.com/ for their free av software..i'll uninstall the other one and try this out as it's surposed to cover more viruses than the other one..and be less intrusive on your system....thoughts?
