View Full Version : Boolean Subtract - Doesn't Close Geometry

I am having some trouble figuring out why something is happening. In the attached 3 figures is a vary simple Boolean Subtraction operation. the problem is after I make a Boolean Subtraction, the geometry does not seem to close. It leaves both 1 and 2 point polys. Figure 3 is the selection of the 1 point polys, then moving then up slightly. This open geometry causes smoothing problems in my renders. Why does it not connect the points?

Try pressing the m key then enter. Booleans never merge points, you have to do it. Also looking at your object, the disk has twice as many points as the ball. So it may be possible that some points don't get merged.
