I'm a fairly seasoned broadcast animator but lately have been doing some mechanical prototyping for an invention I'm working on and have been using my favorite 3D design program, Lightwave's Modeler, as it's a whole lot more fun and user-friendly than Autocad. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on exporting a usable file format that can be imported by cnc machining software, (iges would be great). I can get CAD formats into Lightwave, but not very successful going the other way, (i.e, the dxf export isn't working). Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
D

DXF isn't working? It should be working fine. Could you provide more info on this?

Thanks for your reply. I've been offline for a bit. I'm getting a code 1 error message, (Polygons with less than 4 vertices not supported.) I'm not sure how I'd alter my model to conform to this requirement. Any advice?
Also, is there a plugin for exporting an iges file format from Modeler?
Thanks much,
D
