i am having trouble i am thiking of getting Lightwave 8.5 with the free v9 upgrade but what is the difference between the academic version and the normal version.......
i would be very thankful if anyone could help me...:newtek: :thumbsup:

There's no difference. Using the Academic version you have to qualify in order to purchase and can't use it to make any money. You can only use it in an academic setting. You can upgrade it to a regular version in the future to use it to make money.

I have the academic version. It is exactly the same as the normal Lightwave version but you just can't use it commerically. It is really a fantastic deal. The only thing to be aware of is that if you plan on upgrading to a commercial license you have to own the academic version at least 6 months first.
