Ohyeah I almost forgot I want to get in to some game development and I want to do car/firstperson games what is the best free software to get started with. I have gtk radiant but I dont want to have to buy quake 3 because It is so violent. I would use gtk radiant iff I could Load My own textures but I cant out how to.

"Dark basic" is apparently very good.

However for the best result you should program your engine, makes it more specific and runs faster.

Thats what i'm hoping to do this summer!

For most game design you'll need programming knowledge, not nescesarily of the script, but the basics of writing programs!

There are probably some tutorials online. I'll get back to you if i find any good ones!

Check out Flay.com for some good tutorials and the tutorial section of the Newtek site for tutorials on boolean operations, which is what you'll need for the eyeholes.

Lost Pencil has an animation tutorial and link to a game creation package; I'll post the link later today after I wake up and have a chance to dig it up...

That logo was copied from CG Channels avatar list of images. It would not be that difficult to make actually, there is a Newtek tutorial I think or you can access effect tutorials from http://members.shaw.ca/lightwavetutorials/Main_Menu.htm I think it looks more like exploding particles than fire. Either way the Link above will get you to the right place. It would be under the Category Effects.

umm also this is the Tutorial I was thinking about http://users.otenet.gr/~nixx/flame_tutorial.htm it shows spreading flames on a logo. The end result looks pretty good and like everything else out there is a great building block.

you need to have HV's active on the partigon (as a guess) hit F6 and add HV's, then make the partigon a HV object and set it up from there.

Use Sas, a demo ships with LW, to create spline based hair (right?) its ok for short hair, people seem to have problems getting it to work for long hair.
