Just a quick question on the BDRF shader. Does it override any specular settings that you set in the basic paramaters tab, or does it add on top of them.

If I recall correctly, you need a setting of 1% in the specularity and gloss for BRDF to work, you basically just have to turn it 'on', any other value won't make any difference.

Be aware that there is a bug with BRDF when used with raytraced reflections, you may get little black spots in the render. If you do get them, try setting your render threads to 1.

Hey thanks for the info. Yeah I recall reading that it had a tendency to mess up reflections.
