Hi All,
I was following with interest the thread on the Beta forum about using LW's new cameras to create the holographic effect, and it made me think of a problem I am trying to sort out.

I am trying to model and animate a bird, with feathers, and am running into all the interpenetration problems associated with feathering.
I read somewhere that Weta used a renderman shader that would render each feather from the furtherest away to the closest, thereby eliminating such problems, as the closer feathers are simply rendered over lower ones.

Could this effect be possibly recreated using the new node setup and the new camera abilities? The interesting stuff done with holographs make me think it might be, but I dont understand enough about it yet - the beta manual is pretty slim!

Any ideas? - it would really make my day!!!
