View Full Version : losing plugin prefs

Layout keeps losing track of installed plugins such that I have to manually install any and all plugins I want to use everytime I start the program.

I'm on a 1Ghz DP with 10.2.4....

Any ideas on how to get back to standard loads?

(p.s. modeler seems to be OK)

1) are you using the Hub? If so, for the next few steps, switch it off. You can do this by putting -0 (that's a zero) in the first line of the Lightwave cmdLine file in your programs directory.

2) while you are in there (Lightwave cmdLine) make sure it is pointed to your current preferences file directory. This is most likely your problem, if Modeler is finding the prefs and not Layout. Copy the directory path from Modeler cmdLine to Lightwave cmdLine.

3) In the Finder, open a window, browse to ~user:Library:Preferences: and find the Lighwave Extensions 3 Prefs -- Don't open it yet!

4) Launch Layout press option-F11, then scan directory. Choose your Plugins Directory. When it has finished, press scan directory again and choose the LScript directory. Press done.

5) Quit Layout.

6) check the modified date for Extensions 3 Prefs -- it should be current.
