Im tring to find a decent tute on from start to finish on taking a object to getting it finished and colored. Im new on lightwave and have been using default textures on Vue5 instead of making them in lightwave.

Willing to look into a buyable one but would rather like to see a free video.

Everything you need to know about the surface editor is in the help files, and anyway, it really is the best layed out and easiest to understand surface editor in any 3d app.
I don't think there are any tuts as basic as that, you're expected to learn the basics first and then get more advanced techniques from tutorials.

edit: You can look here for a start

this is exactly what our 3D Garage courseware is all about. Start to finish.
Check it out at www.3dgarage.com.

Project based training, taking you from A to Z, starting with Modeler, working your way through Layout.

There might be a few freebies out there that go from start to finish. I havent seen any though.
I do have an introduction to LW course that covers a whole project including:
Modeling, Texturing, Rigging, Lighting, Animation and FX.
The course is over 35 hours of material and comes with unlimited online support. The price is right too. :)

If you want something simple and inexpensive to start with I would recommend my Product Creation Video. It covers modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering on a project. It covers a lot of ground.

Heres a good place to go and see what others have been able to do quickly and what they think. http://www.kurvstudios.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=27

Ive got a lot of material on lots of other topics, in fact far more then anyone else. Ive been doing online courses longer then anyone else in the LW market. Most of my material is also available from KURV. I would check out the free videos Ive got. Theres some pretty useful tutorials there. Good luck. If you have any questions drop me a line :)
